Well, I'm still here.  I think every time that I am going to be consistent on this blogging thing, it seems life gets in the way.  Although I have not sat down at the computer, I have been busy.  My grandbabies are very active and I don't plan on missing anything they do.  Grand #1 competes in gymnastics and that means traveling for competition.  Grand #2 plays softball on a travel team so that puts us on the road also.  So far we have been lucky and have not had to split up with them but I know it is coming.  They play soccer on a local team so we get to stay home for that.  I have made two trips to the beach for fun and rest since we last visited, and that was awesome.  Daughter, grands and myself went in May and oldest son, daughter in law and hubby went in August.  My youngest son is in his sophomore year in college and living life to the fullest.  The last thing he wants to do is go to the beach with his mom!  HaHa!  I have found time to sew though. Here are a few of my finished quilts:

February came and went and I am still current with my quilt  blocks that are being done monthly.  well, sort of current.  My Clementine BOM came out on the 25th and it is cut but not sewn together yet, and my Autumn Splendor Mystery BOM came in the mail on the 23rd, and it is cut but not sewn yet.  I am current with the Pat Sloan "In the Summertime" weekly block , the "Community Sampler" weekly block, Quilters Planner BOM  and the My Quilting Life weekly block.  I have yet to receive the Batik BOM instructions from my friend who is making this quilt, but she thinks she is getting them this week so I can get it cut and sewn. I did finish "The Long and Short of It" quilt top and hopefully I can get it to the quilter next week.  I have really gotten into more than I need to but I cant wait to have all those beautiful quilts eventually.  My family is excited also because they will get the majority of them.  Hubby came home around the first of February, and spring is coming, so grandbabies activities have increased.  Soccer on Sunday afternoons and gym meets on the weekends are keeping us busy.  Grandbaby #2 is going to play softball and it will start soon, so that will involve nights during the week.  It gets crazy, but I would not miss one thing!!!  My babies did not have grandparents that could attend their activities, so it is my mission to be there for them.  I lost my mom when I was pregnant with my second child, so 2 of my children never met her.  She had a wonderful 15 months with my first child and they were best buddies.  I miss her everyday!!  My dad was the rock of the family and he was great with helping with the kids and making sure they learned all the things they should, but his arthritis kept him from bleachers and walking long distances.  Now if he could get his truck close enough to watch he was there!  I lost him 6 years ago this month and my life will never be the same without those two.  OK, lets get on to happier things.  Here are some of my blocks.......

  Quilters Planner March block

Community Sampler- there is nothing wrong with starting early on Christmas-

Pat Sloan- I have done all 5 blocks that have been shown so far-

A Quilting Life weekly block, the second block is cut but not sewn-
and the biggest challenge of all, "The Long and Short of It" quilt top-
Well, that's what I have been up to, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  I hope March is as fun and challenging.  I can tell my skills are getting better because my points match better and my corners meet, most of the time.  HaHa!  Be safe and happy. Hug those you love.  Do some random kindness daily to a stranger.  Pray for our country, our soldiers and their families, our government leaders.  God bless yall!!!

Well, no sewing for me on Sunday.  Grand #1 needed a Valentine box for school and she asked if we could make a Unicorn Valentine Box.  Mom searched on the net for ideas and we found several neat looking boxes.  We sat down at the dining room table, got out the craft boxes, discussed the options and decided what we would do.  When that sweet angel asks for something her Gammie does everything possible to get it for her :

The first pic is obviously the front and the second is the back.  We cut a flap out in the back that she could pull down and put her Valentines in.  Look how she did the stickers around the eyes.  I love her artsy flare.  Her mom says that when it comes to craft projects we are two peas in a pod! Grand #2 doesn't have to have a  box but she drew hearts and colored them while we worked on this project.  It was a great day.

I hope yall had a great weekend.  Be safe, healthy and happy.  Hug those you love.  Laugh out loud.  Pray for our troops  God bless yall!!!!

Back to blogging.....

Hello!  I am just getting started here, actually I had another blog and have not posted for years, and I cannot remember the password !!!  Life stays pretty busy around here, but I am determined to take time to keep this blog active.  I am a wife, mom, mother-in-law, Gammie (the best job I have ever been given) and full time working registered nurse.  I have been a crafter all me life, starting with embroidery and cross stitch as a child and I have dabbled in just about every aspect of crafting over the years.  My all time favorite craft would have to be quilting.  I took a quilt class about 6 years ago, but due to life in general, I only piddled with it.  I completed my class quilt and started on others but I was a slacker and never completed the others, which brings us to the present.......

Baby boy went off to college, hubby went out of town to work and I found myself  EMPTYNESTING after all these years.  Middle child, my one and only daughter and the mother of my wonderful grands, bought a new house and I was helping her set up the design and color schemes for it.  A packaged up quilt top was discovered by her in the top of my closet and it all started again.  She said, "Mom, I need this for Ella's room!", and it was sent to the quilter and it became the theme of her bedroom.  I even took it to the beach in September and did the binding.  Next followed a quilt for her living room, then two Christmas quilt tops were done (but never quilted due to time issues with the quilter so they are presents for this Christmas for her and daughter-in-law).  Then a quilt top was done for my neighbor who cares for my animals  (another blog post at some other time, they are all rescues), when I am out of town.  I sent the neighbors out this week to Missouri Star Quilt shop to be quilted, this is a first for me, but my long arm quilter has closed her shop.  Finally I did one for myself.  It will be the next thing that will be sent for long arm quilting.  I have done some myself (stitch in the ditch) but my knees are not good enough for me to crawl around on the floor anymore and it is too large to put on a table top, etc to pin.   First pic is my crazy wonderful family....
The next pics are my quilt tops that have been done since September.  I'm telling yall emptynesting is a real deal.....

So in January I chose to join in some BOM quilt-a-longs.  I have several friends who have started quilting also and joined some too, needless to say we have all joined and shared our patterns so at this time I am actively involved is 4 quilt-a-longs and might I say up to date!!!  One is Quilters Planner BOM, another is Clementine BOM by Fatquarter Shop, next is  Autumn Splendor Mystery BOM by Fig Tree Co, and the last is called Batik BOM.  I chose my own fabric for 3 of these.  Clemetine BOM is a charity quilt-a-along for St. Jude's.  Here are my January blocks, they are in the order as above.....

The last one above has two smaller blocks that are done also, I just don't have a pic of it and I also don't have a pic of the quilt for Ella's room that started this obsession.๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•  Well, I think I have bored ya'll enough for today.  Be safe, healthy, happy and loved!!!  Try and make a positive impression in someones's life today. Laugh out loud!! Hugs those you love! Pray for our soldiers and their families!  May God bless ya'll!!!
